2016 Fall Festivals in the Cumberland Valley Pennsylvania

The air is clear and crisp, the colors are changing to those awesome shades of autumn, and it’s time for a getaway to our B&B located between Carlisle and Mechanicsburg, PA!

On September 24, 2016, all things “apple” are featured at the 31st Annual New Cumberland Apple Festival. Enjoy entertainment as you stroll through the Borough Park where craft and food vendors sell their products. The apple pie contest will be one highlight of the day’s activities that occur from 9 am to 3 pm.

Also on September 24, 2016 visit historic, downtown Carlisle, PA for the 35th Annual Harvest of the Arts Festival. The festival includes over 100 juried artists selling their works in pottery, photography, paintings, glass, wood, jewelry, and metal. There is a great food court and “Kid’s Alley” with activities for kids all day long. The Meeting of the Marques Festival will provide the opportunity to view some classic British-made cars.

On October 1, 2016, from noon to dusk, the 33rd Annual Little Buffalo Festival will take place in rural Perry County. Music will be performed from three stages that day with a variety of styles of music. Arts, crafts, and fun for kids will take place in the Buffalo Kids Entertainment Area. The writers’ nook will feature poetry readings and workshops. Food vendors will be on hand to keep you “fueled” for the day!

Celebrate American Craft Week from October 1 through October 16, 2016. Artists in Boiling Springs, Carlisle, Camp Hill, Enola, Mechanicsburg, Mount Holly Springs, and Shippensburg will be having special open houses and demonstrations during this national event. These art galleries and the artists who produce wonderful creations are all Treasures of the Cumberland Valley.

Carlisle Barracks Oktoberfest will be celebrated at the Army Heritage and Education Center in Carlisle on October 6-9, 2016. Entertainment, games & contests, carnival rides, a Volksmarch, arts & crafts show are all part of the fun! Enjoy lots of traditional German foods and a Beer and Wine Garden.

Near the end of October (17-23), Celebrate The Book Week will be full of fun and educational activities. The featured autho this year is Lisa Scottoline, who leads her readers through solving suspense thrillers. She will be the featured speaker on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 10 am and 1 pm.
