TCO Fly Shop will do a “soft opening” on March 1, 2016 in the old location of Yellow Breeches Outfitters. Work has been continuing for many months; progress has seemed slow but these guys are doing it right! Watch for the official Grand Opening in April.
The old building, which has served many functions in the village, has been completely remodeled but made to look just as it did back in the 1950’s. The retail space contains great clothing, waders, a few ‘knick-knacks’, and all sorts of fishing gear and the stuff to tie your own flies. Hikers on the AT will be able to find a bit of help for those blisters too.
A walk around the small village of Boiling Springs is a great way to spend a day. Check out the old iron forge for history dating back to Revolutionary War times. Wind around the lake and up one block to browse through The Village Artisans – an award winning Arts & Crafts retail shop. Have lunch at Boiling Springs Tavern and get dessert at Café 101. Stop by the memorial clock tower and read some of the names of local war veterans. Then be sure to stop in at TCO Fly Shop for all the fishing supplies you could want and some great outdoor fashions too.
